the dodge daytonas were 1969 models and the plymouth superbirds were 1970s.

Subject: PESO: Flawlessly Flawed

Back from my three-day marathon shoot at the Mopar Nationals in Columbus,
Ohio. Two days of rain. Good weather only this morning, but managed to shoot
enough cars, some in the gloom.

Among the 1000 or more cars were several perfectly restored 1971 Dodge
Daytonas. I shot two of them for the mag. They were perfect restorations in
that they included flaws that were common to these cars when new:
ill-fitting nose pieces, excess glue in seams, wing finish that didn't
exactly match the car's finish, etc.

The Daytonas and their Plymouth twins were hastily thrown together in order
to produce enough street versions to make the race version eligible for
Nascar competition. They sold for about $4500. today, their worth twenty to
thirty times that, even more if their flaws have been flawlessly restored.
This doesn't show the car very well, but it's my favorite. I may post a
profile view when I have time.
