I'd counter that with a quote from another review: > Do not blame the camera if your initial results are less dramatically > sharper than your old 6-8-12MP Nikon. It's probably you... That was certainly the impression I got from reading the initial review; he dismisses the camera largely based on poor image quality using a low end ultrazoom (28-300?) lens pushed to its limits. That's not a review of the camera's IQ - it's a review of the lens. I was also reminded of many of the reviews of the *ist-D. In particular I noted the recommendation to always use the in-camera sharpening, because otherwise the images were too soft. It's not a general replacement for a point-and-shoot JPEG-only camera. And the operational ergonomics sound as though they're likely to drive many reasonably knowledgeable users crazy by treating them as beginners. But I suspect the camera is capable of producing results considerably better than that first reviewer would have you believe. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
