This has to be one of the more interesting cars I shot this past weekend. It's
a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. Or, more correctly, it was a Road Runner. Now it's
a $1.2 million dollar carbon fiber and aluminum fabrication sitting on a full
tube chassis with Corvette C5 suspension all around. It stands 42 inches tall
at the top of the roof. Under the hood is an all aluminum fuel-injected
generation 2 hemi that put out 780 horsepower on a dyne. It's backed by a
pro-stock style three speed Leno trans. The interior is primarily carbon fiber.
On board fire extinguishers are tubed out to five nozzles. indy-car quick-lift
hydraulic jacks are at all four corners. That front grille was CNC machined
from a solid piece of titanium. At present, it's just being shown, but the
owner says he will attempt some records.
