Quoting Don Guthrie <[email protected]>:

If there are more like this keep looking in the archives.

Forgive my ignorance but I don't look at the photo and say Australia. I see no chance of my ever being there so I so enjoy these photos a great deal.

No - it's not a typical outback scene and could probably be an old tree next to a river anywhere. Warwick is a large town (small city) in south west Queensland and this photo was taken almost in it's centre. If you ever get downunder I'll buy you a beer!

JCO - I see what you're getting at but I like the slight curve in the long grass next to the tree. Cropping too much off the right would lose that. I'll give it a try though.

David - the image is full frame. I didn't think about creating a panorama (well, it was very early and I hadn't had my morning coffee yet)

Ann - Crocodile Dundee would die of boredom... no crocs this far south - might be the odd brown snake, though.

Chris - yes, I like to check the archives occasionally. It's amazing what can be overlooked.

Larry - I can upload my archives to your Dropbox account, if you like. It's only a couple of hundred gigabytes....

Thanks to everyone else who looked and commented. Much appreciated.
