i see a few (maybe 5-10 in an average week), so if you are seeing "lots", i'd
blame the Gmangler
the ones i see are a subset of the various oddities which come from people
using certain Android email clients (no In-reply-to: headers), people replying
to digests (the In-reply-to: links to an email i don't have) and people
replying to any old thread and changing the subject; but on the whole PDML is
pretty well-behaved relative to its volume; thank heavens for hierarchical
threading, i don't know how i could handle a list like this without it
