Artist's statements? We gottem! Colen teeters dangerously between the galleried perils of finesse and the incomprehensibility of a/Art qua exhibit. In 'qualifying' his pretentions publically he adopts a position of semi-jocular modesty, using his declaration as a Renaissance / re-birthing of the fig-leaf, which denies the both the upright and the moist, replacing them with the sweat / brow / pain symbology of the plough, the furrow, and all they entail.
