i love Ethiopian food; spiciness actually varies quite a bit in my experience; your plate looks appetizing; i generally stick with the vegetarian dishes, but sometimes get doro wot or fish
have been to many Ethiopian restaurants; there are some good ones in Denver, and there were four in walking distance where i lived in Minneapolis, but the best Ethiopian i've had was in Washington DC … we told our cab driver the name and address of a restaurant that had been recommended and he said "no, you will have a much better time at Dukem [1116 U St. NW] i will drop take you there and if you decide against it, you can walk down the block to the one you thought you wanted" … Dukem was fabulous; in addition to amazing food there were censers with myrrh and live music and dancing with the dancers changing costume several times to perform styles of different regions; that might sound kitschy but it was pretty down to earth
there is also a restaurant called Uchenna in Old Colorado City (west Colorado Springs) that is very good, though in a very modest storefront; they real teff (a grain uncommon in the US) for the injera
