Thank you, Bruce.

You know, I found some studio equipment (soft boxes, stands, backdrops, etc.) for sale on craigslist a couple of days ago for $300. I briefly considered buying it and foregoing the trip to the Black Hills before deciding I'd kick myself forever if I didn't go.

I have a perfect place to set it up whenever I need somewhere to do a shoot -- down at the club where I work, during the off-hours. But, I have other priorities for now.

Well played, Walt. There's *so* much more to portraiture than the tech
issues, and you're getting right into it.

The back-story is, I found this woman extremely attractive, and when she
was standing on the stage after the band finished, I asked her if she would
let me take her photo -- and she happily did. So, after taking a few
perfunctory shots of her standing stalk-still on the stage, it became
obvious that the photos were going to be victims of her stiffness and my
lack of gumption.

So, when I saw her sitting on the stage talking with a few people a little
while later, I struck up a conversation with her. Eventually, I got around
to the "So, are you married? Have kids?" part -- to which she giddily
replies, "Actually, I just got engaged today!!!"

So, I said, "Well, hey -- let me be your engagement photographer!"

This was the shot I emailed to them:

I hope they like it.
