PentaxForums.com posted this interesting comparison of the three current 50mm Pentax lenses: FA 50 1.4, D-FA 50 2.8 macro and DA 50 1.8.

At the very least, I'm glad to see my FA 50 is not the only one with rather awful purple fringing. I would sell it to buy a DA 50 1.8 in a heartbeat if only the DA had a distance meter on it. I really don't know why they left that off.
