Hope you do a video report on Foyles's War or
Inspector Lewis. I think the Inspector Morse, Inspector Lewis ones
really are filmed in Oxford.

I think we did do something on Lewis a while back but it wasn't me. I
had the great pleasure of filming on the Morse set at a country location
years ago, and we filmed an interview with John Thaw. Just three of is
in an empty pub - me, the reporter, and the actor. Sat him by a window
with very atmospheric lighting easing past the smoky glass, wooden pub
table, pint of beer at hand. It was fascinating to hear him talk, and he
was an unhurried true gentleman. I am rarely taken with celebs because
they usually have egos that precede them measured in megawatts. John
Thaw didn't.

How cool that you got to meet him -- so sad he isn't around any more -
it was a bit unsettling when he and his ficitonal self both died of a heart attack.

Yes, some of the exteriors are/were filmed in and around Oxford.

I've got a 3 DVD box set of the original Brideshead Revisited I'm
currently watching - haven't seen it in 20 odd years - absolutely
brilliant - even better the second time around.

I never saw the whole broadcast of that, forgot why. Read the book
back before the flood. I'll have to put it on my list in the library.
Glad you mentioned it.
