I mostly agree with you, Bill. I have to admit, I do like her expression (she was really "getting into it" and I thought I captured that).
But the lighting was horrible and I wondered if I was able to do something it. You have confirmed my fears and in the light of a new day I must agree with you. Fwiw no flash was used, that was just the bad stage lighting that I was not able to wrestle with either in camera or in processing. The track light and background is quite distracting; if the rest of the photo had enough positive attributes I might try to get away with it, but it's just not working. The young singer (her name is Denielle, btw, I even got that wrong last night) asked if I could send her any photos that worked out. Based on your honest review and my subsequent re-evaluation of the photo I won't be doing that. Thanks for your candor. Sadly, this picture has moved me enough to beak the rules and post about a picture I don't like. Sadly, this has the look of a flash on camera, amateur snapshot that a mom would take of her daughter at a high school talent contest. The wall and tracklight behind the subject screams "I have no ambience, and I suck", and the poor girl truly looks like she is trying to keep her cool, even though someone just poked her ass with a hot needle. Sorry, but this one doesn't work for me. -- William Robb -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
