Igor and Chris Mitchell wrote extensively and sent more photos.
It was kind of interesting that Chris and you both honed in on the
waterwheel first, as opposed to the structures in the other photo, too
glad I needed to ask - a nice voyage

I recognized I had seen a photo of that waterwheel before - I think from
a travel photography workshop - so I had a pretty good idea I could find
a photo of it online.
I thought it was Amsterdam because of the canal. I did a Google Image
search for "Amsterdam canals + waterwheel", and that photo turned up as
the first image in the second row of results.
Further reading makes me think that canal & waterwheel is a fairly
common tourist view you can see from the bridge.
