Joseph, you might be correct in the way how things work, but
formally it was actually in the text of the announcement:

"Effective October 1st, Mr. Akahane will be appointed President of PENTAX
RICOH IMAGING AMERICAS CORPORATION in addition to his current role as
president of PENTAX RICOH IMAGING, Tokyo, Japan."
