I feared that I had missed it. Oh well, even with the stragglers I saw many dozens of them. However all were individual shots.
Same thing happened last year. However, two years ago I was out there for what must have been the peak. It was magical: http://knarfdummyblog.blogspot.ca/2010/09/more-monarchs.html?m=0 On he second last photo the orange blobs on the trees in the background are not (as you might guess) red leaves but are monarchs. Here's another gallery from two years ago: http://knarfdummyblog.blogspot.ca/2010/09/monarchs-at-colonel-sam-smith-park.html?m=0 It really was an unforgettable, unbelievable event. Oh well, maybe next year. I am pretty happy with the individual shots I got from this year. Over the next few days I'll put them in a small gallery and post them. Thanks to everyone who looked and commented. I've never caught a Monarch that well. A dude in the Toronto social group on PentaxForums posted shots of bushes covered in Monarchs down near the Lakeshore Yacht Club from two weeks ago. Migration is over now I guess. Missed it by that much. :-) On Mon, Sep 17, 2012 at 7:03 AM, frank theriault <[email protected]> wrote: > Got down to the Lake yesterday for the first time in a long time.
