How about a 35mm lens on a 12MP APS camera with that image quality on a pixel level? With that sensor, I'd have no compunction about "crop to zoom", and I'd much rather give up a little resolution when zooming in than any picture at all when needing something a little wider. Apart from simply not having the money, I just don't trust Sony.
