As it turns out... my niece-in-law knew it is in fact a bridge east of COlumbia, Al... confirming that it is, at least the first half of it,
in that state.

Don't know it's name, but it doesn't matter - just need to be able to
say where it is.

Google got me crazy with this...It can only be in Alabama , western
Georgia or the Florida panhandle east and north of Ft Walton Beach.

I am hoping it is one crossing the Chattahoochee

thanks,

The bridge might have been replaced since then.

What route did you take going down to Ft. Walton Beach?, and what route
did you take after leaving Columbus, GA?

This might help: http://bridgehunter.com/

thanks for the link... I'll give that a try

It doesnt matter what route I took to Ft walton beach (I was coming from
the west) or what route I took leaving Columbus Georgia because of the
sequence of photos on the film strips and my verbal notes.

I know that the bridge photo was taken the day I left Ft. Walton.

My best guess is this is a bridge that crosses the Chatahoochee at
columbia, Al

It looks like there was construction going on , on that bridge,
incidentally
