thanks for your reply, I was kinda hoping I wouldnt have to
"turn on" the SR before snapping an image but it looks like
you have to wait for it to do its stuff (like af) before the
camera is ready to shoot.

I could be wrong, but I think the motion detectors are always active
when the switch is "ON", but the actuators that move the sensor only do
their thing while the shutter is open.

Or it might be the motion detectors are activated by half press &
actuators are activated by full press.
