Thanks Paul. It was made in 1831. The date's on the quarter dial and
it's contemporary with the rest of the clock.

One day I'll go back and see if the rope can be moved out of the way
to get a cleaner shot. It's a bell rope - the 8 bells are above the
clock room and the ringers' room is below. The clock borrows three of
the main bells to ring the hours and quarters. I'll have to ask nicely
as it would be very bad karma to upset the bell ringers...
