I've gathered a half-dozen prices from online dealers; as I recall, all are $150 to $225. I'll sell the lens for perhaps $20. I suppose you mean I overpaid because it's from an individual, with a no-return policy on top of that. Basically, I'm taking the seller's word that he had a shop check it out last week and pronounce it in fine shape. I had him confirm that the aperture window can be seen.
On EBay, a few XR-Ps have sold for less, most for more. Much depends on the bundle.
