Nobody commented on my comment to the boring storeroom shot so I'll
post it here and it's bound to get loads of attention...

Hi Rick. Thanks for posting some lovely shots of one of my favourite places.

One of the highlights of our trip down the Cotswold Way last year was
brought about because I was reading Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall, which
is about Thomas Cromwell. We turned a corner and there was a plaque
stating "Thomas Cromwell stood here and watched the dismantling of
Hailes Abbey". One of those unexpected moments.

I often wonder how we'd have been able to look after all of those
lovely buildings in these times of austerity if Henry and his henchman
Cromwell hadn't dismantled them. There were hundreds.
