I've found it pretty useful as a close-quarters zoom for casual
portraits and have found it to be much sharper than my Sigma 24-70
f/3.5-5.6.
I've never used a 28-135/4, but that extra bit of focal range does sound
attractive -- especially if you don't mind the extra heft.

that's interesting, I dont think I have ever used or owned
a 35-135mm lens. I do have a smc-a 28-135/4. guess that's close
enough.

I used my SMC F 35-135 f/3.5-4.5
It's a great, versatile lens and I use it pretty regularly, but just
isn't /quite/ as sharp as a prime, obviously.

Thank you, Steven!
I wish I'd had an FA 50/1.4 to shoot it with. Maybe someday. :)

Very nice. I don't mind the bright spot at all.

Thanks, Kenneth.
Unfortunately, my composition options were pretty limited in that every
other angle had some kind of distracting structure as a backdrop --
homes,
garages, car ports, highway, utility poles, etc.

Walt, a very nice capture seriously lessened by the unfortunate
placement

I don't know what kind of plant it is, but it's across the street in
my
neighbor's front yard and it was really luminous just before sundown
yesterday.
