I"m just awaking from my 2nd nap of the day... now it is _sNOWING_ outside!

Almost afraid to mention I have power - don't wan't to tempt providence!

Ok - a totally non-partisan story about the shot

Having my camera with me saved me from utter boredom standing in the line that snaked around a corner at my polling place that used be annoying only for the confusion of traffic once inside.

My neighbor reported she went very early and it was 2 1/2 hours before she got to vote. I went mid mornign and it was only an hour... the
fancy stuff on the walls is from a coffee place called "the Bean" .
I suggested to anyone who would listen that it might be nice to do
a straw poll to see how many in line were actually voting in the proper place.

(For those who had not seen the news about this, The Gov (who I like a lot) made an order (that could have been sooner) that if one couldnt get to their normal polling place because it had been washed away in the storm, simply had no power, or if they were staying a few miles away because they had no power which meant no heat or lights or water even in some cases, they could go to ANy polling place, sign an affidavit and be issued a special ballot. )

anyway, the person directly behind me spoke no English (Ukranian about
my age) the person in front of me was a 40'ish guy who had both ears
implanted with I-pod pods, the guy behind the ukranian didnt even look up - he was using his laptop and wi-fi). Usually, in long lines in NY
people are glad to chat. Sigh. NOt even a smile cracked at my suggestion...

BUT - I had camera and shadows to play with...

The umbrella shot might be my fave, but that's becuase I was
here and the Halloween "danger bones" ad near them was my kind of irony.
There was no power - that was the first full day of no power in my part of town... No traffic, nothing open - and I liked the orange, green and purple from the color wheel.

anyway- I babble because I've just awoken from a nap, there is my own cooking to consume shortly and I can once again play words with friends because I have my right eye back in almost full operating condition! - I suppose I shouldnt strain it though.

thanks to all of you who liked my non-stormish storm shots - past present and future.

My eye is virtually healed so I got these into my 2012 gallery

Another storm coming today maybe a bit of snow.

I really like No. 32. A subtle take on the election process. Well seen
and recorded.
