Bob Sullivan and I saw one of those at the Helix store in Chicago last
year.  Wow!  That's one big lens, and in a moment of greed and lust I
did a mental calculation of my bank balance ... 

Thoughts of that lens brings up a question.  When using a teleconverter,
the effective focal length of a lens increases and the effective
aperture decreases, so a 400/2.8 becomes, in effect, an 800/5.6 with a
2X converter.  Going in the opposite direction, would an 800/4.0 be
"equivalent" to a 200/1.0, or even a 100/.50?
