Sometimes what is called "conventional wisdom" is neither.
Two books here are useful to correct such ignorance.
Roy Clouser?s "The Myth of Religious Neutrality" and
William Cavanaugh?s "The Myth of Religious Violence"
Two fine academic works. One basic philosophy; one history.
Others will hold that Richard Dawkins pretty much sums it up with "The God
Delusion", but let's not go there. :-)
