Of more interest to me than the fisheye is the 14mm f2.8 which gets very respectable reviews. It is rectilinear and manual focus. Perhaps most significantly, it covers full frame (where the Pentax 14mm does not) making it a real treat on film cameras. Reviews say that it is corner to corner sharp on an APS-C camera from about f5.6
Cons are: no filter threads and hood is not removable. some mustache distortion which is said to be easily correctible with PTLens ($25) http://epaperpress.com/ptlens/ apparently some unevenness in quality of the lenses (at least early on?) Test and return for another if you don't get a good one. This last point makes this one lens that I would not buy used, at without being able to try it first. With the instant savings, B&H has it for just $299 in Pentax mount. They beat everyone else by that $80 instant savings, at least right now. If I had the moola, I would be tempted to jump at one. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
