My experience with XP is that even if you right click & tell it to keep
the item on the menu permanently, eventually it will still wander off
somewhere. You'll have to hunt it down and "pin" it there again. You
just don't have to do it as frequently.
that's never happened to me. You must have pixies in your house who do it
while you're asleep.
Yeah, but you'd think they'd at least have the common curtsey to have
my coffee ready when I wake up in the mornings.
I think it may be some function of how frequently you use the start menu
for launching programs. I seldom do. The programs I use are almost all
either on the Quick Launch or are represented as desktop short-cuts I
can double click.
There are some programs I might use once or twice a year "pinned" to the
Start Menu itself, and those are the ones that seem prone to eventually
wander off.
