Well, just to give the 'dream sequence' a bit more dreaminess, yes. As
you know the GoPro primarily shoots HD, and I use it at 720/25 and then
down-res it in Final Cut to match the SD (Standard Def) format of my big
camera. At some point this year I will be going over to HD on the big
camera, but as you can appreciate, with prices around 9000 GBP for just
the camera (no lens or viewfinder) it's no small move. The TV news org I
shoot for is still on SD for a little while so not an issue at the moment.

So in a SD timeline I've got footage from both gopro and big camera,
then it's just a case of duplicating the shots and adding these to
another video track, adding some de-focus filter to the original, then
creating a feathered crop to the duplicated track to allow the in focus
part to be seen (effectively like a couple of layers in photoshop).

>Also there might have been something you did to, for lack of a better
>term, jitter his image in some of the face shots?

Yessir, I used an echo filter, again to add to the dreaminess.

The shots of Stef's face from the lower side (not gopro) were filmed
while stationary on the big camera against the sky with him emulating
riding and me shaking the camera. If you look closely there's a bit of
shadow crossing his face at some points, almost subliminal. That was a
random branch being waved in the right direction! Really needed to
reshoot that against green screen maybe with some trees moving past
behind. Also his mouth is shut! In the real riding shots it is sometimes
open and sometimes shut, so wtf. Shoot took a couple of hours and the
weather changed so balls to it.

Oe thing I did do is buy a longer plank as a 'track' for the
Frankendolly to move across the tarmac in the low angle up-and-past.
Really need to reshoot that too but work keeps getting in the way dammitt !!

Thank you sir. Bike sitting on a bench in the garden in sunlight with
shadow behind and sprayed with water.

Someone (not on here) said I had too much time on my hands but what they
didn't appreciate is that I do this for a living, and it helps promote
my business. Potential clients like seeing this sort of thing because it
gives them ideas and hopefully helps them to pick up the phone!!

Thanks again, and to all who looked and commented.
