Some of my so far limited shooting with mine would lead me to agree with much of your comments. I think it is cooler in person than what it looks like online.

Exposure seems to lean toward underexposure to me. I run mine + 1 most of the time but it may be due to the cloudy weather here. Look forwrd to more of your stuff.

So, as you know the price of the K-01 is at a pretty attractive these
days. Some wine-fueled online retail therapy got me a K-01/40mm XS kit.
My first impressions from today's shooting

* Surprisingly, for a camera that initally looked fugly to me, I quite
like the look of it in real life. It feels clean, especially the rear
that has a lovely uncluttered look. Coming from the cramped X100/OM-D
design, the rear buttons are easy to hit, and I can do it without
looking now.

* Battery life is great. One battery all day.

* The rubber grip is terrific. Vertical ridges make for very reassuring
ergonomics.

* Image quality is as you would expect, fine, given that great sensor.

Some things I am less enamoured with. It may change once I get used to it.

* Autofocus is not good (I've updated the firmware to the latest which
was suppose to improve this). I think the original X100, warts and all,
had a better hit rate. The 40mm XS is a cute lens, but it hunts around
really badly. I had to switch to the DA21 I had as backup. Even with the
wide angle, I missed plenty of shots.

* Exposure is very odd. It seems to first tries to get focus, then
meters. I had lots of shots overexposed because I didn't allow the
fraction of a second to stop down. Maybe the wetware is at fault here,
but more investigation is necessary

* Argh, the buffer is awful. My Epson R-D1 is better. Take a shot in
DNG, there is a good 1 or 2 sec wait until you can take the next one.

* Not as quiet as I would have thought. I knew this, because I played
around with one before purchasing. But it is definitely louder than the
K-5. The 40mm XS is a very grindy lens. If only they made an SDM pancake.

That said, it is still a fun camera to have. Really feels nice in the
hands. Pics from today.
