we also got flimsy plastic construction, degraded quality control, and poor reliability issues as time went by.

Though the very best still cost a lot more, the amateur did not care. In the 80s we got ED glass. Awesome. And always priced like it. By the late 90s we got aspherical elements perfected, sometime coupled with some quality polymers. Now some excellent lenses are even lighter and better at the corners. What's next step in lens improvements? (Those flat lens systems with software-variable focus control look interesting. It will be neat when they're able to change focal length with them.) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
