I have experience only with one Russian lens, a K-mount Zenitar 85/1.4 lens. I've just taken some photos using it alongside a Pentax A* 85/1.4, and they are indeed interesting. (I will have to scan and post them.) The Zenitar 85/1.4 K is not as sharp as the Pentax wide open, but it does sharpen up as the diaphragm closes down a bit, and it has very, very pleasing bokeh - this was a nice surprise. As for quality, well, it won't be mistaken for an A* lens, but it does seem solid, and the focusing is rather nice. Fred - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
