I think it would work if the snow had been falling a lot harder, so that the visible snow in the foreground gives your brain a reason for the background being OOF.

I agree. What I wanted was the snow more in focus than the
background, but the background just a LITTLE oof, to give it a dreamy
feeling and to emphasize the snow, rather than the rest of the scene.
The background is MUCH more oof than I intended. It didn't look quite
that bad on the viewing screen, and I didn't examine it too carefully
as my wife was anxious to get out of the snow and rain.

It is not at all what I intended, but what the hell, I'll just pretend
it's art, and if others don't like it,then I'll tell them they don't
understand high concept art.

I see where you were going with it. For my taste, something besides the snow
should be in focus so that you've got something to see the snow against.

Well, yes, that's why it is a FAILED experiment.

I was trying to focus on the snow instead of the buildings and people.
I thought it might look interesting. Turns out, it's pretty much
impossible to actually do that, at least with my old geezer eyes.

When I looked at it, first I said, "Ah shit," but the more I looked at
it, the more I liked it, weird as it is. So, I thought I would post
it here so folks could tell me how terrible it is and why I shouldn't
like it.
