My opinion on the MX-1, viewfinders, etc. (as if it matters). 1. I agree the MX-1 is largely a P&S clone in fancy dress. A shame Pentax would use the MX moniker.
2. Having both a NEX-5 (no viewfinder) and a NEX-7 (EVF), the NEX-7 with viewfinder wins hands down. Having two very similar cameras one with and one without a viewfinder makes the difference in handling, and joy of use very apparent (for me at least). Having a frame around my view with out external elements is a composition aid for me. 3. The only camera without a viewfinder that I'd consider is the Sony RX-100 1" sensor model. I'd prefer to have a viewfinder of some kind there too, but for a pocketable P&S with much better than normal IQ, I'd forego a viewfinder for portability. 4. If the MX-1 was an APS-C mirrorless ILC with EVF and the retro styling of an MX camera, I could have been induced to purchase one for more than the original selling price of the K-01. 5. MX-1 is style over substance.
