Great news! I have gotten good reports about the 1680 and was a bit puzzled why you did not get the same results. Do you use the Epson's own Twain or the fantastic Silverfast 5 ? This is also the first report of 1680 with XP. I will be using Win2K... I did order my 1680 Pro yesterday, so I am even more happy now ;-) I'll be scanning mostly 6x9cm and 4x5" slides and those occasional 35mm...
