Thank you, Frank. > Any thoughts I entertained about going were dashed by that little early > evening snow squall. BTW, you can take a Missi bus from Islington subway station to Square One. There's about a 10 minute walk from there to the gallery. Despite being dismissed as urban-sprawlsville, Mississauga's transit system is pretty civilized. Amazingly they keep to their schedule too. > Have to admit that I'm a bit uneasy about art "competitions", especially > between different media as seems to be the case here. The whole juried competition is a negative to many people, but her take is "nothing ventured, nothing gained." She entered this one and did not get selected, but she's not taking it badly. She entered a competition in nearby Burlington the week after and got in, so she's happy there. I had nothing riding on getting into this: no expectations, wasn't holding my breath. I simply submitted my best work and left it at that. I wanted to see that shot printed anyway, so I had little money at stake either. It matches our dining room decor, so I know where it's likely going when the exhibition ends. :-) > --- Original Message --- > > From: Bruce Walker <[email protected]> > Sent: January 17, 2013 1/17/13 > To: Pentax Discuss Mailing List <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: I've been selected for a juried art show, VAM35 > > Well, the opening is over, and it was really well attended.
