I may for example!
My 50-135mm had a failed SDM (not my fault) and I was unable to use it
as an autofocus lens (even though it had the screw driven mechanism
intact) because Pentax prevented me doing so.
Now its SDM failed again (after repair and this time, my fault).
I really want to try the mentioned solution.

I just don't remember where the lens is (an early sign of Zheimer disease?)!
