The narrow roads and steep drop-offs are still there, as well as the
speeding pick-ups.  The best scenery is actually past Hana, especially
in and around the 'Ohe'o Gulch portion of Haleakala National Park.  I
spent a bit of time hiking in the park, which is a very scenic rain
forest, as opposed to the desert climate of the other end of the park.
Of course, being a former aviator, I had to make the pilgrimage to
Lindbergh's grave.
