Thanks for your comments, Aahz, Jack and Bob. The shutter speed was 1/320, and the aperture f7. Because when never knows where the whale will rise, a bit of DoF is needed, but the speed has to be enough to stop blur from moving the camera quickly and from the motion of the whale.
