I'm finding that yeah highlights blow with what it sets a lot. I'm always trying to retain highlights in the jpeg. Very much like what another person said in this thread who's name is now suddenly escaping me. I do use highlight protection a lot too. My k-7 seemed to try to preserve highlights more. Sometimes I feel like my k-5 is exposing for the shadows. My prior experience is all compact cameras/bridge cameras and their live view metering is usually extremely consistent in comparison. The k-7 I got a good feel for....the k-5 seems to want to blow everything. I need to test some more quite honestly. I've been doing lots of low light shooting lately, so I could just be running into operating limits of the meter. Its most likely just this fa 28-80.
