Indeed! Moss corner is the place to be! Got lots of terrific shots there during the several races I went to in the seventies. Saw quite a few F1 and CanAm races there, plus a Formula Atlantic race because we wanted to see an up and coming young Quebecer who everyone said would make it big one day: Gilles Villeneuve. Crashed and broke his leg in that race. But his career was went well after he healed...
;-) Mosport was a great place to watch a race back then. Heard that safety restraints have taken away many good vantage points... It's almost a 180 degree uphill right hander, very heavy braking going in and max acceleration going out with a lot of runoff area. Watched several Can Am races there and the Canadians were/still are great race fans. Also crewed for a car in a 6 hour enduro - The Sundowner - but that's another story. -----Original Message----- >From: John Francis <[email protected]> >Subject: Re: The F1 Of Yesterday > >On Fri, Mar 15, 2013 at 07:29:44PM -0400, [email protected] wrote: >> Thanks David, I enjoyed the memories. >> >> My first - in person F-1 race was the Canadian GP in 1967 at Mosport >> Canada, just east of Toronto. > >I've been to Mosport once, for an IMSA race. >IIRC I saw Butch Leitzinger get the #17 Dyson Ford up on the bank in turn 2. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
