Amazing to me that there are so few bicycles. I counted three, although it looks like the one in Washington was a delivery bike, a proto-bike messenger!
Ten or twenty years before these were taken it was the bicycle craze. The streets would have been filled with horse-drawn vehicles and bikes. Didn't take long for the car to all but eliminate the bike as an urban vehicle.
