What's old is new again. :-)

An alternative to that rather dust-prone trick is to manipulate a
large magnifying glass in front of your lens. You have to experiment
with manual focus to get the combo to be sharp-ish, but you can get
some groovy effects. I came up with this myself, but I'm sure it's
been done before. Sort of a poor-man's Lensbaby.
