I pulled my camera out and my friend (who owns a Canon EOS) said "don't bother,
it's pretty dark in here". My reply: "Don't worry, I've got this".

Shot with a measly 80-200 f/4.5-5.6 zoom, too! What I couldn't do with a
50-135. Sigh.

Yup, Austin TX (against whom we were skating) has a banked track, we have a
flat track. The spectators sitting on the floor actually paid extra for the
privilege of being right there. There's a significant "border zone" between
the defined tracks and where the spectators sit, though. Only one beer was
spilled by a crash in the whole evening!

A bonus was having my roller-derby friend share my public Facebook-based
gallery "with the entire league". Lots of comments/tags/compliments flying my
way. I enjoy the attention that way.
