Thanks for the nudge, John. I'd never considered that these might be standard -- I always assumed some oddball custom thing. But you're right, it's also used in exit signs and alarm systems. So I did a search and located a few places around that carry such SLAs. The average price is still around $30 though. That is, when I could even see a price. Most places say "call for quote". And the ones that seem to be battery marts are all located inconveniently on the other side of town. So I've ordered it through Amazon. I don't mind if it takes a couple of weeks to arrive. We don't have power glitches all that often anyway. But thanks for the suggestion as I'm going to do some more digging and see if there's a place closer to me.
