Since we're using a K-r for shooting parts and our shooting is expanding to the company's second building I was allowed to order in a second camera. Got a K30. White. Comparing it to the K-r, having just a few minutes with it so far ...
1) The image rendering to the display is much better. K-r images on the display are always soft. K-30 seems far more accurate. Display is also much brighter. 2) I can see why nobody likes the feel of the body. But the flat inside of the grip might be nicer for carrying, as it balances on the fingertips, though not for shooting. 3) The electronics seem to be more responsive. Might be a faster CPU or just improved firmware, or maybe both. K-r (and my K-x) are not bad, but this is better. Overall, though, I think it will work nicely. And we could get it in white for better product shooting. (I don't think a K5-series camera is available in white.) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
