Portland is an amazingly cool town. Not to mention the last time I was there I picked up a (manual focus) Tokina 80-200/2.8 for $150. Since I was unemployed I made it a specific point *not* to look up the other store that sold used camera gear. If you aren't familiar with Powell's, you could pretty much distract your wife there for unlimited time while you scoped out camera shops. It started out life as a four story parking structure that covered a city block. They left some space for parking, and converted the rest to a book store. http://www.powells.com Since Brian won't be in the Bay Area until after Memorial Day, it will be the optimal time for us to host guests, because the folks from Camp Blues will have just left. We tend not to put things back to what passes for normal until after our annual party for Zab's Birthday (Z-day will be celebrated on June 8th this year, come join us, it's more fun than a day on the beach in Normandy). Anyways, anybody that wants to meet up with Brian and needs a place to stay, you're welcome here. It's a bit of a drive to SF (an hour and a half, a bit more going up the coast) but it's a fairly pretty neighborhood. Oh, another thing to put on your todo list up in SF, The Exploratorium has just moved to a new location (after 44 or so years at the palace of fine arts) and is reopening next weekend. It is probably one of the most awesome museums in the world. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
