An 18-35mm f1.8 designed for a full frame sensor would probably weigh
75% more and take a 88mm filter size and cost twice as much.

One of the more fascinating things about this lens (to me) is the
upgradable firmware and setting for front/backfocus in the lens
itself? I'm not terribly up on modern autofocus lenses, but is this a
first?
