When I was a young pup I worked in a building owned by Jim Gilmore,
sponsor race car driver A.J. Foyt. Mr. Gilmore loved "stressed stainless
steel" - i.e. stainless steel plate meticulously hammer with semi
regular indents. His cars, his buildings, his signs, everything
associated with his enterprises were done up with stressed stainless
trim. This leaf reminds me of that stressed stainless, though it is
just a delicate petal and not steel.
