Thanks - yes, I'm 76 - in generally good health but at least I think
they only kinda-sorta knock you out.  I expect to be guided home
to fall asleep soon after the out-patient bit.

I've been through major surgery several times ("major" defined as general
anesthesia), including a cochlear implant operation.  Sure hope this goes
easy and you heal quickly.

Given your comments about geriatric care, you definitely want to take it
easy afterward, I've heard that it can take longer to recover from any
sort of anesthesia as you get older.
