I've seen several posts on various web discussion groups where
incident meters are recommended as the only way to get a "correct"
reading of the light falling on a subject.  I've always thought that
most of these writers had either never really used an incident meter
or only used it under narrow conditions where it would work well.

Being an old guy that actually had to use an incident meter, I've
always held the opinion that there is just as much technique required
to interpret an incident reading as a reflected reading.  The
techniques are just different.

Here is a video that finally talks about the differences.  It's
intended audience is videographers, but the basics apply to still
photographers.
