I believe I mentioned the dulled "shine" in one of my earlier posts. I may, 
later, mess with the dodge tool and contrast slider, but shine may not happen.

That's a damn fine redwing, Jack! Looks like an illustration in an Audubon book.

If it were me, I'd mess around with some post-processing to add some
shine. No doubt the tricky light conditions dulled his feathers on
you.
